Autumn/Winter Accessories

Watching the snow falling outside my bedroom window, I thought it would be a good time to do a little blog post about my favourite autumn/winter accessories at the minute. The lighting in the photos are a little terrible, but blame the English weather - it's making it pretty impossible alongside my lack of photography skills! Hopefully it'll cheer up soon though so I can get outfit posting again.

CheckScarves1

(Blue Tartan Scarf - Charity Shop, Brown Check Scarf - Gift)

Scarves, in particular checks (surprising I know) have really been a staple of my wardrobe recently. With the freezing cold weather and the long commute I have to university most days, I've found it necessary to wrap up in lots of layers. After seeing many people in the red tartan scarves, I decided to go for a different take on the trend, and this blue scarf came to the rescue! I found it hidden away in a local charity shop and although I'm quite sure it's possibly a kids scarf, I really do love it. I do have my tendencies to dress like a little school child unintentionally, so this certainly fits the bill. And the brown check scarf is something that's never far from me. My granddad died in December 2011 and I decided to keep this of his as a little reminder of him. I've worn it for every exam I've had since and somehow my grades have really improved, so thanks granddad! I like to think it's a lucky charm.

BowlerHat1

(Bowler Hat - H&M)

Of course, I had to mention the good ol' Bowler Hat (after all, I am the girl in the bowler hat, haha). I've had this for many years, yet haven't had as much wear out of it as I'd like. I'm a total hat person and own many. I can't seem to get enough of hats! They're a great way of jazzing up outfits, keeping your ears warm and hiding a bad hair day - I'm sure we've all had them. And the little bow on this is a nice little piece of detailing, as you probably know by now, I like bows.

Beret1

(Berets, from Top to Bottom - Accessorize, Primark, Primark)

More hats! This time, the berets, a classic for many. A number of years ago, I went through a little phase of collecting these, in every colour and pattern going. (You can never have too many!) Being truthful, the last few years these haven't had much wear, but after growing my fringe out this year, I've found myself digging them out of the bottom of my drawers. And, although you probably can't tell from this photograph, the navy beret has a polka-dot bow on it - noticing a pattern here...

Whilst I'm scouring the internet for some accessory bargains (helloooo sales!), I'd love to know what you favourite autumn/winter accessories are!?

Ps. - I'm looking for a new blog banner, so if you design any, or know anyone who would be possibly be able to help - please email me (it's on my contact page) or comment here!
