Don't Save Me

DSC_1002 DSC_1003 Edit1Edit2 Edit4

(Probably shouldn't have changed the lighting half way through pictures.. oops!)
(Velvet Top - Charity Shop, Skirt - Topshop (old), Snood - Topshop (old), Coat - Charity Shop)

Finally! Another outfit post, cue more awkward poses and faces (loving the 'lets scratch head and pout' pose I seem to be sporting and the 'gaze into the light' one too, haha!). This is what I wore this morning before going to the local shops for an hour-long shift at work and to buy food. I decided to go for comfort over practically today, especially with the 3 inches of snow and minus temperatures where I live at the minute.

The top is something I bought in the summer at a charity shop, as it's navy velvet caught me out. I just love the rich colour of it. And with three-quarter length sleeves? I was sold. Paired with a burnt-orange coloured skirt I bought on a whim in Topshop's sale two years ago, I thought the colours worked together nicely. Although it's not got the most flattering shape, as you can probably tell from the photographs (hello making my hips look huge!). I love mix and matching my fabrics.
Velvet + Leather = Good in my books!

The snood was a gift last Christmas and I guess it's quite safe to say I've worn it a lot. Although it's absolutely HUGE and swamps me, it's super cosy and warm. The fact that it's a lovely plum shade is just an extra bonus! Probably my favourite charity shop find to date is this amazing biker-style winter coat. It's by some sort of Japanese make I think, and although it's an extra small, fits absolutely lovely. For the first time possibly ever, I've found a coat which hasn't sleeves which are too long - hooray! And, although you can't see in the photographs, it's shearling lined, making me super super super cosy. Perfect for this winter weather!
