As a new feature of mine, I'm thinking of doing a series of Trend Reports. And of course, first up it's the turn of the S/S '13 Collections. If you have any trends in particular you'd like to see me cover, please just comment on this post what!
Monochrome is a trend which has been seen on many catwalks for this upcoming Spring/Summer, and if I'm being honest, it's one of my favourites. Although I do wear a lot of colour in my outfits, I always tend to fall back on the same basics that I wear with practically everything. And they're always monochrome. In an attempt to create a wardrobe full of staples, I tend not to buy many 'trend' pieces, as well, let's be frank - in a few months time you get bored of it. However, for this trend, I can certainly see myself investing in a few quality pieces. In different shapes, different patterns and different styles, this trend is suitable for anyone. It allows you to add little splashes of colour into your wardrobe, whether it be through your lipstick of choice, nail polish colour or shoes - the list goes on!

Favourites on the high-street:
Floral Notch Neck Jacket - Jackets are something I tend to buy a lot of, especially with the British weather being the perfect excuse. And I haven't one anything like this one, it's a classic fit and would look wonderful both dressed up and dressed down.
Tall Stripe Band Back Dress - Being another one of those people who loves that Motel dress that's all over the blog world, this dress caught my eye out straight away. Although the skirt looks a little long for my short legs, it's versatile and ideal for many occasions. Plus it'll definitely be suitable for those warmer summer months.
Mono Floral Playsuit - If you hadn't already noticed, this is in the same print as the jacket, but I just really really really love this playsuit. I've never owned a playsuit, however, after seeing this on the Topshop website, it'll be searching for it in my local Topshop, for sure!
Sleeveless Stripe Shell Top - Despite not being a fan of sleeveless numbers (they don't hide those pesky bingo wings!), there's something about this top that I like. I'd most likely wear this with my trusty denim jacket that I practically live in during the summer.
Half and Half Spot Top - Polka-dot print is one of my favourites. And my wardrobe definitely doesn't incorporate enough of it, so this is perfect. I think it would look lovely with this denim pinafore I currently have my sights set on.
HACIENDA Vintage T-Bar Shoes - I could not quite believe it when I saw these shoes on the Topshop website, they're adorable. I tend to be put off when the word 'vintage' is in the name of a product, not sure why, however this certainly lives up to it's name. These make me look forward to summer days with dresses in ice-cream shades and no tights.
The White Pepper Gingham Check Shirt Dress - Oh my gosh, this dress is PERFECT!! The caps and excessive amount of exclamation marks were totally necessary, I couldn't think of a dress I see myself wearing more than this. It's the ideal shape, fit, colour, pattern, and generally everything. This is certainly now top of my wishlist, I simply love it.
ASOS Swing Dress With Colour Block Sleeves - This dress is arguably one of the more versatile pieces featured in this post and it's something that would never go out of season.
ASOS Spot Collar Jumper - Again, as you probably have already realised, I love collars. And I love cute collars sticking out of warm jumpers, like this one. I don't actually own any sort of white jumper, maybe that should change...
River Island Skirt In Stripe Box Pleat - My name of my old blog doesn't really give it away (pleated skirt), but I love pleated skirts, surprisingly. I own quite a few skirts in this style, but none in patterned fabric suggesting I may need to invest. I say invest, it's actually really cheap.
ASOS Shirt With Broderie Panel - Yet another blouse, I can't seem to get enough of them. The cute broderie anglaise detailing is lovely for the spring/summer, and makes a nice subtle change from the usual white blouse.
Black Coated Pinafore Dress - I actually spotted this pinafore dress whilst last visiting my local Miss Selfridge and I instantly found myself wanting it. It's a coated denim/leather-esque material, which makes it a little less boring, and since I love to play around with different fabrics - it's ideal for me.
Stripe Turtle Neck Crop Top - If someone had told me I'd be featuring a crop top on a wishlist a few months ago, my response would have definitely been "hell no!!" but I guess things change. I'm a big fan of the turtle necks at the minute, and although my stomach far from resembles a wash-board, I wear many high-waisted skirts so it can definitely work.
Daisy Trim Short - I don't often wear shorts, in fact I own a grand.. one pair. However, these are lovely, how cute is the mini daisy detailing on these?! They couldn't be more perfect for the summer.
Black Sheer Paper Bag Mini Skirt - A very basic skirt, but nevertheless, just as nice. I've always found the Paper-Bag waist on skirts to be very flattering, and I love this skirt's subtle take on it. Plus, this would match with everything!
H&M Backpack - Admittedly, fringing detail has never really appealed to me much. However, I love how it adds a little twist to this simple black backpack. As I tend to always carry a bottle of water with me (it's an anxiety thing), the bags I purchase need to be big enough to carry my things. The size of this bag is perfect.

Ps. I'd love to hear what you think of this feature, a yay or nay?
