Whenever I'm looking to buy a new beauty product, there's a couple of blogs which I always rush to first to check out their reviews. One of these is BonjourLuce, an incredible beauty/lifestyle/sometimes fashion blog ran by the lovely Luce. If like me, you find the world of skincare bamboozling, then this is one blog you want to check out. Making everything seem simple, this girl certainly knows how to persuade me to go shopping!
What was it that sparked your decision to start your blog?
I had been reading blogs for a few years and I was suddenly buying a lot more than I usually do, so I thought why not write about it all?
Were there any blogs in particular that inspired you? If so, which ones?
I had been reading Lily Pebbles, Vivianna Does Makeup and Zoella from the beginning, so probably them!
What would you say are the pros and cons of blogging?
The main pro is the community. I've met some of my closest friends through blogging which is amazing, everyone is so similar in some way that we all get along. Similar the last pro is meeting a lot of people in the beauty industry. It's really helped me decide what I want to do as a career in the future, as they're so inspiring. To me there aren't many cons, as I rarely get hate, but there are so many girls in the blogging community that it can get quite bitchy at times. Another one would be when you start to compare your own blogs to other people's blogs. That isn't healthy for you.
Have you had any blogging highlights?
One of the main blogging highlights was going to London fashion week! I've always been avid follower of the fashion weeks so it was a dream come true. Another one would be landing myself an internship at a great PR company through my blog.
How long have you been interested in beauty?
Since my early teens! I've made my mistakes with beauty, like over plucking eyebrows, but I've always been interested in it. It was my older sister who sparked this whole beauty obsession, she used to pass on her unwanted items!
Something I love about your blog is how simply you explain the importance of skincare/haircare/make-up whilst making it super easy to understand.
So, what advice would you give to those just branching out into it all?
Invest in good skincare, I don't mean £50+ creams, just a good cleanser and moisturiser. Your skin will thank you later in life. Once you have good skin, you can just use high street make up as it will sit perfectly on your perfect skin!
Have you any skincare tips that you swear by?
Ooo, my top tip would be to always double cleanse after wearing make up. Step away from make up wipes and never cleanse with micellar water, just use that to remove your make up.
If you could only have 5 pieces of skincare and 5 pieces of make-up, what products would you choose?
My five skincare bits would be REN Rosa Centifolia Cleansing Gel, Pixi Glow Tonic, Origins Make A Difference Plus Serum, Origins GinZing Moisturiser and REN Glycolactic Radiance Renewal Mask!
My five make-up bits would be Bourjois Healthy Mix Serum Foundation, NARS Creamy Concealer, Tom Ford Brow Sculptor in Blonde, Benefit 'They're Real' Mascara and MAC Plumful Lipstick!
And finally, what's currently at the top of your beauty wishlist?
The item I'm craving at the moment is Hourglass Ambient Lightening Powder palette. It comes out on and it's limited edition, meaning I HAVE to have it!
