NEW IN: JEWELLERY & WATCHES FOR AW 2015

New In Jewellery 1

New In Jewellery 4

I’ll happily admit to anyone, that I’m a bit rubbish when it comes to wearing jewellery and watches. Don’t get me wrong, I love seeing other people wear them – but I tend to forget to wear them myself most days. When I cleared out my room earlier in the room, I had a massive jewellery sort out (turns out I still owned many necklaces from my emo/scene days…) and cut my collection down to very few pieces. Since then, I’ve been trying to make an effort to grow my stash and pick up some classic pieces which are going to complement my current style and see me through this autumn/winter. I’m on a real tight budget at the moment so buying new clothes is really out of the question – but thanks to end of season sales and some wonderful collaborations there’s a few pieces I thought I’d talk about.

One of my favourite places to pick up jewellery is the ASOS sale. For some reason, I’m really loving hexagons right now and from hexagon prints to design to shelving (yes, I caved into the hexagon shelf hype) I couldn’t help but pick up this ASOS Hexagon necklace when I spotted that it had went into sale. I’m actually wearing it in my latest post for an eagle-eyed reader out there, but I love how it complements my outfits right now when I’m wanting to dress up something a little casual. Another ASOS find is this 70s inspired necklaceI picked up last week at a total steal (£2 to be precise – I know right?!). Apart from it slotting nicely design-wise into my wardrobe – as we all know I’m a total sucker for 70s pieces right now – something about the fact that it’s detailing is dark brown caught my eye. It’s not really like anything I’ve seen before and it’s a great colour for this season, I’m already excited to get styling it up.

A few weeks ago, I was kindly invited along to the Tatty Devine #tattyontour jewellery making event at the Baltic. It was a little bloggers preview and a small group of us met the lovely team behind the brand to make ourselves a Bunting Necklace each. There was a huge choice of colours to go for, but with copper/rose gold and grey being my favourite colour combination of the moment – I stuck to this when picking out which bunting I’d like to create the necklace with. I love how it came out and I’ve worn it many times since as it’s such a versatile piece in my collection, plus I’ve never worn it out and not received compliments, so that has to be a good thing!

Watch-wise, I’m all about classic styles. I think watches are certainly more of an investment piece and one that you’re going to like throughout each season is the best idea. Daniel Wellington are one of my favourite brands, so when an email popped into my inbox asking if I’d like one of their watches to style on my blog – I jumped at the chance. Going for the Classy York in Silver, I love the dark brown crocodile leather band on this and how many of my pieces it pairs nicely with. I have quite small wrists so I tend to stay away from larger watch faces that often don’t fit right, but the smaller face on this is perfect for me.

What are your jewellery/watch essentials? Anything you think should be on my wishlist? I’d love to know!
