In a new feature, at the end of each month I’ll be doing a little post over some of my favourite reads. Seeing as I have many favourite blogs and love to discover new ones (I’ve already got my favourites for next month sorted), I can’t wait to share some of them with you!

Hello October

A relatively new find, Suzie’s blog has quickly become one of my favourites. The first thing that caught my attention was her incredible photography, this girl sure does know how to setup up great photographs. And while I’m a little bit of a newbie when it comes to skincare, her posts have been especially helpful… even if I do want to spend a little (a lot) of money afterwards.

Well, what can I say? Carrie’s blog has always been number one in my eyes. Maybe I’m a little biased because it’s the first blog I ever read around 5 years ago but if there’s one blog I’m always excited to see post again – it’s hers. She has the most incredible style, as 60s dresses and plenty of cat-inspired pieces get a massive yes from me and I can’t leave her blog without having made a massive wishlist. And don’t even get me started on her photography! If I ever take learn to take photographs as wonderful as hers, I’ll be one happy girl.

Another relative new find of mine is Megan’s blog. With a wardrobe to die for, I definitely have a case of serious envy – especially with her incredible coat collection, I need. Her outfit posts are some of my favourites, and whenever I need a little bit of inspiration know exactly where to turn to. Plus she rocks a good hat, and we all know how I feel about hats!

Kate’s blog has always been a big fave of mine, with her posts being a mix of lifestyle, beauty and fashion. I’m not quite sure what I love more, her blog, her Instagram or her YouTube, they’re always a wonderful read/watch – and boy is she a funny ‘un. I don’t think I’ve ever watched a YouTube video of hers which has not led to me laughing out loud. And of course, I couldn’t not mention her other website – Nouvelle Daily – which hosts some of the most wonderful posts (and photographs). I’ve been lucky enough to write a few posts of the site in the past (which I’d love to do again someday) and it’s one of my daily visits.

Who are your favourites?

Hello… Luce from BonjourLuce!

Whenever I’m looking to buy a new beauty product, there’s a couple of blogs which I always rush to first to check out their reviews. One of these is BonjourLuce, an incredible beauty/lifestyle/sometimes fashion blog ran by the lovely Luce. If like me, you find the world of skincare bamboozling, then this is one blog you want to check out. Making everything seem simple, this girl certainly knows how to persuade me to go shopping!
What was it that sparked your decision to start your blog?
I had been reading blogs for a few years and I was suddenly buying a lot more than I usually do, so I thought why not write about it all?
Were there any blogs in particular that inspired you? If so, which ones?
I had been reading Lily Pebbles, Vivianna Does Makeup and Zoella from the beginning, so probably them!
What would you say are the pros and cons of blogging?
The main pro is the community. I’ve met some of my closest friends through blogging which is amazing, everyone is so similar in some way that we all get along. Similar the last pro is meeting a lot of people in the beauty industry. It’s really helped me decide what I want to do as a career in the future, as they’re so inspiring. To me there aren’t many cons, as I rarely get hate, but there are so many girls in the blogging community that it can get quite bitchy at times. Another one would be when you start to compare your own blogs to other people’s blogs. That isn’t healthy for you.
Have you had any blogging highlights?
One of the main blogging highlights was going to London fashion week! I’ve always been avid follower of the fashion weeks so it was a dream come true. Another one would be landing myself an internship at a great PR company through my blog.

How long have you been interested in beauty?
Since my early teens! I’ve made my mistakes with beauty, like over plucking eyebrows, but I’ve always been interested in it. It was my older sister who sparked this whole beauty obsession, she used to pass on her unwanted items!
Something I love about your blog is how simply you explain the importance of skincare/haircare/make-up whilst making it super easy to understand.
So, what advice would you give to those just branching out into it all?
Invest in good skincare, I don’t mean £50+ creams, just a good cleanser and moisturiser. Your skin will thank you later in life. Once you have good skin, you can just use high street make up as it will sit perfectly on your perfect skin!
Have you any skincare tips that you swear by?
Ooo, my top tip would be to always double cleanse after wearing make up. Step away from make up wipes and never cleanse with micellar water, just use that to remove your make up.
If you could only have 5 pieces of skincare and 5 pieces of make-up, what products would you choose?
My five skincare bits would be REN Rosa Centifolia Cleansing Gel, Pixi Glow Tonic, Origins Make A Difference Plus Serum, Origins GinZing Moisturiser and REN Glycolactic Radiance Renewal Mask!
My five make-up bits would be Bourjois Healthy Mix Serum Foundation, NARS Creamy Concealer, Tom Ford Brow Sculptor in Blonde, Benefit ‘They’re Real’ Mascara and MAC Plumful Lipstick!
And finally, what’s currently at the top of your beauty wishlist?
The item I’m craving at the moment is Hourglass Ambient Lightening Powder palette. It comes out on Nov 4th and it’s limited edition, meaning I HAVE to have it!
Are you a reader of BonjourLuce? Who are your favourite beauty bloggers?

Bumble Bee.

(Denim Jacket – Topshop, Skirt – Primark, Shirt – MinkPink, Sunglasses – H&M, Nail Varnish – ‘Prickly Pear’ by Barry M)
The last few weeks have been pretty hectic, and I’m sure the next few are going to be even worse. Between bloggers events, days out, university deadlines and illness, blogging has taken a bit of a back seat, but hopefully by mid-May it’ll all be over with – hooray! Then I’ll have over 4 months to concentrate solely on this blog of mine, I can’t wait. New layout? Me thinks so.
On to the outfit, although the sunglasses are probably the only giveaway, but it’s been sunny! That little glowing ball in the sky made it’s appearance and I couldn’t have been more thankful. In celebration, I decided to dress a little a la bumble bee. I didn’t hesitate to find a pair of sunglasses in the back of my drawer and yesterday I didn’t even wear black tights *shock horror*! However, looking out of the window just as I type this, the skies have returned to that pesky shade of grey. It was good while it lasted (a whole 2 days!!).
You’ll possibly recognise the skirt as it’s something I’ve worn in another recent outfit post, but it’s one of my favourites and I’ve worn it quite often recently. This denim jacket I have had for around 5 years now, I don’t think I could ever part with it. I practically live it in the summer months and I have many memories attached to it (anyone else do this?!). MinkPink are a brand I often can’t really afford on my student budget, however, I was lucky enough to find this black blouse hidden away in the sale area of my local Urban Outfitters. Although it’s a little big (when the sleeves are down I look as though I’m missing hands – good look), I love it’s frill-detailing and dipped back – I own nothing else like it.
What are your plans this sunny (ish) weekend?
Ps. Remember I’m still running a competition to win a £50 love-to-shop voucher where you can spend anywhere (Topshop, ASOS etc). There hasn’t been many entries *boo* so get entering here!
I’d really really really appreciate it if you could post around the giveaway, thank you : )
