My first outfit post in almost two months, crazy right?! It’s been a busy few months, with lots of commitments and university work (which, fingers crossed will be done in October!) so when the chance came around to shoot some outfit photographs, you can imagine how excited I was. It is pretty safe to say that I have fallen head over heels for the 70s trend even more so the past few weeks. Whilst I’m probably not cool enough to really pull it all off, I bought myself a skinny scarf the other day and I’ve worn it everyday since.

I decided to take some inspiration from one of my favourite blogs, the lovely Megan, for this outfit, as I’m always in complete awe at her incredible style and ability to clash prints. I’m always a little weary to, but I thought I’d give it a go and I think it came out alright. I picked up these leopard print boots last year in the sales and I’m not sure it’s quite possible to love a pair as much as I love these. I’ve always loved how stripes go with leopard print, so after finding this knitted top in the sale rail of my local TK Maxx, I knew it was a match made of heaven. Add in a little suede in the form of a skirt for good measure, a leather jacket to toughen it up and this is my uniform for the season. I just love how the fedora and skinny scarf combination can so easily transform an outfit, especially if you’re on a budget. I may be already looking for my next fedora for my collection, I’m thinking navy… ; )

In other news, if you enjoy the photography/writing/design on this blog I would really appreciate it if you could nominate The Girl in the Bowler Hat in the North East Blogger Awards under the category ‘Best Looking Blog’. I’m always trying my best to improve my photography especially, so to be shortlisted for an award in it would mean the absolute world to me!

Are you on board with the 70s trend this year?
